Navigational and specialist shorebased courses
The RYA's navigation and seamanship theory courses are designed to help you unravel the mysteries of navigation, pilotage, passage planning and meteorology. They are great as stand alone courses, but also complement our various practical training courses. These courses take place over 5-days, a series of weekends or evening classes.
Our one-day support courses enable you to expand your knowledge and skills in specialist areas. Some courses, such as the Marine Radio Short Range Certificate, are a pre-requisite for higher qualifications such as the RYA Coastal Skipper or Advanced Powerboat courses.
Whether you are a sailor or a powerboater, our shorebased courses equip would-be and experienced skippers with knowledge to go afloat and take charge of a boat.
