Experience & qualifications
To skipper a yacht in Greece you must have previous skipper experience on a similar size yacht and hold a recognised
qualification such as RYA Day Skipper or the International Certificate of Competance (ICC).
At least one other person in your party must be a competent sailor and it is advised
that one person should also hold a VHF Marine radio operators license endorsed for DSC.
We run all of the necessary courses and examinations here in the UK and can help you with any
training or experience that you may need.
Lefkas Marina base
Lefkas Marina is the most modern and well equipped marina in the Greek Ionian. As well as the essential services -
power, water, bathroom and shower facilities wireless internet access is also available. You are welcome
to use the marina hotel’s pool, sun terraces and bar free of charge. You will also find a
supermarket and cafes providing the opportunity to shop for further provisions or enjoy a meal or a drink
with a wonderful view of the boats and the beautiful town of Lefkas.
Lefkas town
Lefkas marina is in walking distance of Lefkas Town (also known as Lefkada) with its attractive waterfront,
pretty paved alleyways, cafe bars, tavernas, restaurants and shops. Built around a natural harbour Lefkas town
has a very attractive main square and a number of richly decorated Venetian churches. It is host
to a number of cultural festivals throughout the summer.
What's included?
The charter vessel, safety equipment, cooking gas, quality bed linen and yacht towels,
charts and guide books, masks and snorkels and a Dingy. 24/7 assistance, daily weather by SMS,
advice on route planning, mooring & use of our luxury Lefkas marina base which includes the marina
hotel’s pool, sun terraces and bar. A stern to mooring clinic. A complementary welcome pack with fresh
local produce and a range of food and drink essentials.
What's not included?
You are responsible for the cost of flights and airport transferes
(€35 per car for 4 people each way), any harbour dues that you
may incur during a charter and the vessel must be returned free of indebtedness. You will need to
provision the boat with your own food for meals you intend having aboard (including provisions for a skipper if you
have booked one). We provide a welcome pack of essential food and drinks to get you started.
Each boat will begin its charter with full tanks of fuel and water, and
sufficient cooking gas for your trip. we ask that customers fill the yacht up with fuel on their return into Lefkas
marina at the end of their holiday. In addition there is a €60 charge for cleaning the vessel
at the end of your holiday.
Support during your charter
You will receive a comprehensive handover of your yacht including its operation, all of the equipment aboard
and a chart briefing together with details of the sailing area and all the best places to explore
You will have 24/7 communication via radio or mobile phone and in the unlikely event of you needing support,
backup is provided by a large rib.
A weather text will be sent to you each morning. Whist you plan your own routes we are happy to offer any
suggestions and can provide advice on the sailing area from the best anchorages and beaches to
great restaurants and tavernas.
We also provide free stern to mooring practice sessions which is a popular option with sailors who are
seeking a refresher or those new to Mediterranean mooring.

We are sorry but no smoking is allowed on-board.

The yachts are managed and owned by our coleagues at Island Sailing, a Greek company that is owned by a British family
living there. We are proud to be in partnership with them and know that they will provide the same
high levels of customer service and excellence that we provide ourselves here in the UK.

Payment
A deposit is required of 30% of the charter fee at time of booking. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to the charter date.
A security deposit of €1,500 must be deposited with our coleagues when in Greece and must be paid
by credit card. The deposit will be returned less any costs
associated with cleaning, loss or damage to the vessel within 14 days of the end of your charter.
